The 18 'Best Companies to Work For' in health care, according to Fortune

Fortune on Tuesday released its 2020 list of the "Best Companies to Work For," and 18 health care companies made the list.

Cheat sheets: How Fortune—and 3 other major publications—choose their 'best places to work'

About the list

Since 1998, Fortune and Great Place to Work have partnered to develop the annual rankings.

In 2018, researchers made significant revisions in the list's methodology to account for changes in the way employers conduct business and employees work. Previously, the rankings focused on trust, pride, and camaraderie. Now, the rankings are based on five key metrics:

  • Maximizing human potential;
  • Trust;
  • Values;
  • Innovation; and
  • Leadership effectiveness.

The first two factors account for 85% of the grade, while the others make up the remaining. The list also looks at financial growth, but that does not contribute to a company's overall score.

Hilton was named as the No. 1 overall company to work for on this year's list.
