The Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) lists how much Medicare pays doctors and other providers for services and procedures. In the 2022 FY PFS final rule, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) added five new codes that cover remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM).1 In the 2023 FY PFS, CMS clarified that remote therapeutic and remote physiologic monitoring services can be billed concurrently with select care management services. In 2024, the final rule allowed Rural Health Centers (RHCs) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to receive payment for RPM and RTM services.2
