- District of Columbia: Children's National Health System and HSC Health Care System have announced plans to merge and create a comprehensive model for children with rare and complex health conditions. Together, the two will run an acute care hospital and offer subacute and rehabilitation services, outpatient care, and home care (Gilgore, Washington Business Journal, 5/29).
- North Carolina: Novant Health has named Leslie Barrett as president and CEO. Barrett is currently serving as VP of surgical and anesthesia services at the hospital and will continue to serve in that role while president and CEO. Barrett succeeds Kirsten Royster, who became president and CEO of Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center in January (Joyce, Triad Business Journal, 5/29)
