• Michigan: Covenant HealthCare has announced that Ed Bruff, president and CEO of the health system, is retiring, effective June 30. Bruff has served as president and CEO of Covenant since 2015 and previously served as the health system's EVP and COO. Beth Charlton, current EVP, COO, and CNO of Covenant, will succeed Bruff as president and CEO (Gooch, Becker's Hospital Review, 2/10).

• Texas: The University of Houston College of Medicine on Feb. 9 received approval to join Texas Medical Center, marking the 63rd institution to join the medical district and neighborhood.
