JE Dunn: JE Dunn recently teamed up with ESa to complete the new Mercy Iowa City Rehabilitation Hospital, which provides care for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and amputation. The two-story, 53,000 SF facility features 40 patient beds, along with gymnasiums outfitted for high-tech therapy devices and treatments, a dedicated brain injury unit complete with monitored rooms, specialized beds and patient lifting equipment; and separate therapy and dining spaces. Since the building is located on an undocumented fill site, JE Dunn partnered early with the owners and design partner to find the most economical and expeditious foundation system.
