- Maryland: FDA last week announced it's working with Qilu Pharmaceuticals and Apotex Corp. to temporarily import the chemotherapy drug cisplatin, amid a national shortage. - Illinois: Walgreens Boots Alliance announced it will be laying off 504 corporate employees representing around 10% of its corporate workforce following a lawsuit the company settled earlier this month with San Francisco in which Walgreens agreed to pay $230 million for its sales of opioids that contributed to the city's opioid crisis.
