The NICU can be a difficult, stressful place for parents. To bring some cheer and make Halloween a bit more fun, hospitals across the country are dressing up NICU babies in fun Halloween costumes.
This year, babies from Duke Children's Hospital, Hurley Children's Hospital, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, University of Louisville Health, UMC Children's Hospital, and Advocate Children's Hospital were all dressed up for Halloween.
Advocate Children's held a Halloween costume contest, with votes submitted on Advocate Children's Hospital's Facebook page. The winner, Giovanna, was dressed up as "NICU Barbie."
"The most important part of this annual event is celebrating the resilience of our NICU patients and their families — they are superheroes every day, even without a costume," said Michelle Tracy, CNO for Advocate Children's. "Helping our tiniest patients participate in their first Halloween is one small way we can bring smiles and joy that families in the NICU so deserve." (FOX 32, 10/27)
