Multi-viral point-of-care testing (POCT) can be a useful diagnostic tool for patients with upper respiratory infections, such as COVID-19, influenza, and RSV.^1,2 While POCT has the potential to improve emergency department (ED) throughput and increase patient satisfaction,^3,4 health systems must balance the clinical impacts of POCT with other practical considerations, such as effects on quality, workflow, and administrative burden.⁵
